Software AG named a Leader in new Industrial IoT market report
Darmstadt, Germany - Software AG (Frankfurt MDAX: SOW) has been named a leader in The Forrester Wave™: Industrial Internet-Of-Things Software Platforms, Q3 2021. Noting that Cumulocity IoT™ supports customers with a range of connectivity options, the report also states that “Software AG also supports an extensive array of industrial IoT protocols relative to other firms we evaluated, complemented by a fully functional Cumulocity IoT edge solution supporting thick and thin environments.”
This Forrester Wave states that in this evaluation it has “increased our focus on the foundational capabilities of the platforms rather than decreasing it”. Software AG believe this reflects the importance of building on a stable base for any transformation projects. Forrester noted that foundational capabilities fall into three categories: supporting edge-to-cloud deployment, supporting connectivity and device management at scale and nurturing partnerships.
Software AG scored top marks possible in the Device Provisioning, Device Management, Monitoring & Alerting and Developer Enablement criteria. All crucial factors in both supporting customers and empowering them to build their own solutions.
This evaluation comes at a significant time for asset intensive industries, which are undergoing rapid digital transformation. In response to supply chain disruption and fluctuating customer demand, manufacturers have been forced to modernise in the last 18 months. In order to do so effectively they need to build their digital capabilities on a strong infrastructure.
