Software AG launches Adabas Auditing for z/OS to manage growing data security demands
Darmstadt, Germany – Software AG (Frankfurt MDAX: SOW) today launched Adabas Auditing for z/OS, a new product for its Adabas database on IBM Z that will help companies collect, archive and monitor all data interactions. The new product goes beyond traditional monitoring capabilities - which typically focus only on data changes - to include any data access, including identifying what data was read by whom and when. It was developed in collaboration with Beta Systems.
Adabas Auditing for z/OS launches at a time when organizations are faced with stricter and broader data management regulations and myriad security risks. In addition, organizations want to achieve better transparency of the data and process around their mainframes in order to offer security and privacy assurances to their customers. This becomes necessary as more sophisticated application ecosystems develop around mainframes, due to the wealth of insight they contain.

Adabas Auditing for z/OS will assist security officers and auditors in compiling compliance reports, as well as database administrators responsible for day-to-day management. A number of new features help boost speed and accuracy, including:
- Customizable audit criteria and retention periods: allow organizations to personalize their processes to meet their specific requirements, manage their deadlines and adapt with evolving regulations.
- Long-term archives: secured and indexed for easy search.
- Web-based access to audit data: makes it easier to identify unauthorized access and track the activity of authorized users or programs. This helps organizations form a complete picture of who, what and when for their data.
